About the Artist
Marion Jackson Ardana is a contemporary painter who blends classical heritage with sophisticated whimsy. Rooted in Old Master traditions, she employs atelier methods reminiscent of Rembrandt to create luminous, multi-layered oil and mixed-media portraits. While her early training at the University of Wollongong’s School of Creative Arts focused on expressionism, she eventually embraced a combination of styles including realism to anchor her unique creative voice.
Represented in the University of Wollongong’s permanent collection, she has also showcased her work at the Wollongong Art Gallery and Project Art Space. Originally from Scotland and raised in Australia, she balances her practice between her studio in Bali and frequent return visits to her Australian base. Her work serves a global community of collectors who value technical mastery fused with an imaginative, contemporary edge.
